The Finger Lakes Land Trust says an anonymous donor will match up to $100,000 in new memberships and increases over supporters’ 2025 donations through Dec. 31. The offer is intended to raise money for the organization’s conservation work across the region.
For an existing donor, only the amount above last year’s giving qualifies for the match. Someone who gave $100 in 2025 and gives $200 this year would generate an additional $100 from the donor, according to the land trust’s announcement.
New memberships of at least $35 also qualify. The land trust says a new member joining at the $100 level would bring in a second $100 through the matching gift. It is also encouraging gift memberships and referrals to prospective members.
The announcement does not say whether the match applies to all contributions until the $100,000 ceiling is reached or how close the campaign is to that limit. Supporters considering a larger gift can confirm the current terms with the organization before donating.
The deadline for qualifying 2026 gifts is Dec. 31. The land trust has not identified the donor.
