Rochester resident charged with drug-impaired driving after Waterloo stop

A Rochester resident faces a misdemeanor drug-impaired driving charge after a traffic stop Sunday in Waterloo, according to the Seneca County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested Christopher Affronti, 39, at about 5:17 p.m. after observing multiple vehicle and traffic violations, according to the sheriff's release.

Deputies said they conducted an impaired-driving investigation during the stop and took Affronti into custody.

A drug recognition expert evaluated Affronti at the Sheriff's Office before Affronti was taken to Geneva General Hospital for a blood sample, the release said.

Affronti was processed by Seneca County correctional staff and released on an appearance ticket for a later court date.
