A Livingston County man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2024 shooting death of his father in Ossian, according to 13WHAM.
Richard Fluegel Jr. entered the plea Thursday in connection with the Dec. 8, 2024, killing of Richard Fluegel Sr., 60, of Irondequoit, Livingston County District Attorney Ashley Williams said.
Authorities said Fluegel took his father's body to the Livingston County Government Center's sheriff's office parking lot the following night while his attorney called 911 from a separate vehicle.
He had also been charged with criminal use of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence, but the report did not specify how the plea affects those counts.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 3, when Fluegel faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
