Geneva driver charged with DWI after Canandaigua U-turn

A Geneva driver was charged with DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after police stopped him for an illegal U-turn in Canandaigua.

Timothy Moorer, 52, was arrested Sept. 22 at about 7:41 p.m. after the turn at South Main and Beeman streets, according to an Oct. 5 Canandaigua Police Department blotter.

Police said Moorer showed signs of intoxication and that his driving privileges had been suspended because of an earlier DWI arrest.

The department did not report a crash or an injury in the Sept. 22 stop.

Moorer was released to a third party with an appearance ticket for Canandaigua City Court at a later date, police said.
