A Canandaigua man was charged with first-degree criminal contempt after police said he made physical contact with a person protected by a court order.
Carlos Acosta, 40, was arrested Oct. 2 at about 1:15 a.m. following a disturbance on Jefferson Avenue, according to an Oct. 5 Canandaigua Police Department blotter.
Police said the contact violated a “refrain from” order of protection.
The department did not report an injury or describe the contact further.
Acosta was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment, police said.
