A Canandaigua man was charged with assault after police said a fight on Niagara Street left another person with a severe foot injury.
Louis Lavilla, 49, was arrested Sept. 15 at about 2:41 a.m. on a third-degree assault charge and two counts of third-degree menacing, according to an Oct. 5 Canandaigua Police Department blotter.
Police alleged Lavilla approached two people aggressively with clenched fists and then fought one of them.
The department reported a severe injury to that person's foot but did not provide a further medical update.
Lavilla was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment, police said.
