A Canandaigua man was charged after police said he jumped from a burning Bristol Street apartment, was found unconscious nearby and later shoved officers at a hospital.
Peter Nichiporuk, 47, was arrested Sept. 29 following the apartment fire, according to an Oct. 5 Canandaigua Police Department blotter.
Police said Nichiporuk jumped from a window and hid in a bush before officers found him unconscious.
While emergency medical workers treated him, officers reported finding a baggie of crack cocaine on him.
At Thompson Hospital, police alleged Nichiporuk shoved officers while trying to flee.
He was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree harassment, then released with an appearance ticket for Canandaigua City Court at a later date, police said.
The department did not state the cause of the fire or provide an update on his condition.
