Keuka College has named four members to its Board of Trustees, including two alumni, a library and education leader, and a student representative. Janet Chin, Kyle Sylor, Christina AmEnde and student trustee Ruari Griffin began their terms July 1, the college said in announcing the appointments.
The college's announcement said the new members succeed Juanita Hawkins, Jeff Wright and student trustee Alicia Rush, whose terms ended. The board oversees the college's strategy and finances.
Chin has worked in education, libraries, volunteer management and community programming, including leadership roles with Delaware Technical Community College, Read Aloud Delaware and the New Castle County library system. She has degrees from Binghamton University and Columbia University.
Sylor, a 2007 Keuka graduate, is a wealth strategist at Bank of America. He previously practiced law in Washington, D.C., and earned a law degree from Syracuse University. The college recently recognized him with an alumni professional achievement award.
AmEnde, a 1983 graduate, is operations director for Check Fund Manager. Her career has included finance, insurance and nonprofit leadership. She led the Keuka College Alumni Association from 2017 to 2021 and has served in the college's Regional Alumni Network.
Griffin, a psychology major from Hilliard, Ohio, is one of two student trustees. She is a student ambassador in admissions and secretary of the American Sign Language Club. Keuka said she participated in its Emerging Leaders Program and hopes to bring an out-of-state student's perspective to board discussions.
President Amy Storey said the trustees bring professional experience and different perspectives to the college. The announcement did not specify the length of their terms or a particular decision awaiting the board.
