Farmington woman charged in $454 Hopewell Walmart shoplifting case

Farmington woman charged in 4 Hopewell Walmart shoplifting case

An Ontario County sheriff's investigation led to a petit larceny charge Friday after deputies said a woman left the Hopewell Walmart without paying for $454.43 in merchandise.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office said it arrested Christina Rampello, 55, of Farmington at 1:19 p.m. at the store at 4238 Recreation Drive.

Deputies said Rampello placed merchandise in a shopping cart and passed all points of sale without attempting to pay.

She was charged with one count of petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor, according to the sheriff's office.

Rampello was released on an appearance ticket directing her to appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date, deputies said.
