An Ontario County sheriff's investigation into two July thefts led to the arrest of a Prattsburgh man Tuesday, the sheriff's office said.
Gisbert Hanft, 54, was charged with third-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny. Investigators said more than $1,000 worth of tools was stolen from a home under construction in the town of Richmond, and a Stihl gas saw valued at more than $1,000 was stolen from Honeoye Central Schools. Both thefts occurred July 13, according to the sheriff's office.
Hanft was arraigned through the county's centralized arraignment program and held in the Ontario County Jail without bail, the sheriff's office said.
