A Woodhull woman faces two felony charges after Steuben County sheriff’s investigators said a credit card was opened in another person’s name and used without permission.
The sheriff’s office identified the woman as Sara Treusdell, 41, of Church Street, and said deputies and investigators arrested her following a report about the fraudulent card.
Investigators accused Treusdell of applying for and receiving the card in the other person’s name, then making several purchases and charges without that person’s permission.
She was charged with first-degree identity theft, a class D felony, and fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony.
Treusdell was arraigned in Steuben County Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or a $4,000 property bond, according to Sheriff Jim Allard’s report.
