Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore is believed to have suffered an AC joint sprain during Thursday night’s victory over the Detroit Lions, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that doctors do not consider Moore’s shoulder injury serious and that he is considered day-to-day. Schefter added that Moore has a chance to return for Week 3 when the Bills face the Los Angeles Chargers at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, September 27.
Moore suffered the injury with 2:56 remaining in the second quarter while attempting to make a diving catch on a Josh Allen pass in the end zone. He landed hard on his shoulder and remained on the ground before being helped to the locker room for further evaluation. The Bills later ruled him out for the remainder of the game.
The injury initially raised concern that Moore could have suffered a more significant issue, including a collarbone injury. The latest reports provide a more encouraging outlook, although Buffalo will have a better idea of his status once the team begins preparing for Los Angeles.
The Bills will release their first injury report ahead of the Week 3 matchup on Wednesday, September 23.
