A woman was left without a home and lost six dogs in a residential fire on Grand Avenue in the town of Savannah on Monday, according to an online fundraiser. The fundraiser says she wasn’t home when the fire broke out.
The Clyde-Galen Fire District said Rescue 2, Reserve Quint 3 and 18 members responded at 12:45 p.m. to assist the Savannah Fire Department.
Sean Gardner organized a GoFundMe seeking $3,000 for the woman’s temporary housing and basic needs. The fundraiser says she rented the home and no longer has a place to live.
The fire district said it wouldn’t release additional information. The available material doesn’t identify the woman or provide the cause of the fire, the extent of the damage or information about possible injuries.
Donations are being collected through the GoFundMe campaign titled “Support for Her After Losing Home and Dogs in Fire.”
