Cornell University’s Statistical Consulting Unit will hold a free virtual workshop Sept. 24 on the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research.
The session, “Ask the Statisticians: AI in Scientific Research,” will run from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and is open to Cornell faculty, students and staff.
Organizers said the discussion will focus on how researchers across the university are adding AI to statistical workflows while preserving research integrity and reproducibility.
The workshop will also address ethical questions surrounding the use of AI in scientific analysis. Participants will be able to submit questions during the session.
Cornell statistical consultants Stephen Parry and Matt Thomas will lead the workshop. Parry said the goal is to help researchers use AI without weakening the reliability or repeatability of their work.
Advance registration is required through the Cornell Statistical Consulting Unit’s online registration form. The university said additional details are available through the Cornell Bowers College of Computing and Information Science website.
