Rochester Regional Health has added a general surgeon who is accepting patients at its Clifton Springs and Geneva offices, expanding appointment options for people seeking surgical care in the Finger Lakes.
Dr. Edwin Jimenez is seeing patients at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, 2 Coulter Road, Suite 1680, and at the health system's Geneva general surgery office, 833 Canandaigua Road, the health system announced Friday.
Jimenez is a board-certified general surgeon whose practice includes minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic procedures. He also performs endoscopy and colonoscopy, according to Rochester Regional.
The conditions he evaluates and treats include hernias and hiatal hernias, gallbladder disease, and soft-tissue lumps such as lipomas. The announcement also describes broader general-surgery care at the two offices.
The Geneva office is at Rochester Regional Health's Geneva Medical Campus. The two locations give patients a choice of where to seek an initial appointment. The health system did not provide information about appointment availability, insurance participation or the specific procedures offered at each site.
Jimenez earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate and completed a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Jackson South Medical Center in Miami. He completed his surgical residency in Florida and is a member of the American College of Surgeons.
Originally from Ecuador, Jimenez moved to New York as a teenager. He speaks English and Spanish, the health system said.
“Surgery can be an intimidating experience for patients, and I want every person I care for to feel that they have a surgeon who listens, answers their questions, and is truly in their corner,” Jimenez said in the announcement.
New patients can call 315-359-2670 to schedule an appointment. Rochester Regional also lists Jimenez on its provider website.
