An Ontario County man was taken into custody Tuesday after deputies accused him of damaging another person's property and violating an active order of protection in Farmington.
Jesse J. Belcher, 42, of Crowley Road, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal contempt, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they initially responded to a Crowley Road residence Monday for a reported family trouble complaint.
The investigation determined that Belcher intentionally damaged property belonging to another person, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies also alleged that his conduct violated an active order of protection.
Belcher was arrested at about 12:50 p.m. Tuesday and turned over to jail deputies at the Ontario County Jail.
He was being held pending an appearance in centralized arraignment court, deputies said.
