The parking lot at the Maxwell Bay Fishing Access Site will temporarily close next month while the state completes preventative maintenance.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation said the Lake Road parking area, located off Route 101, will close beginning Sept. 9 and is expected to reopen Sept. 11.
Crews will sealcoat the parking lot as part of maintenance intended to improve safety and extend the life of the surface.
If weather delays the work, the project will instead begin Sept. 16, with the lot expected to reopen Sept. 18.
The DEC did not announce any broader closure of the fishing access site beyond the parking area.
