A Rochester man was charged with driving while intoxicated after deputies said his vehicle crashed into an apple orchard in Sodus early Sunday.
Wayne County sheriff’s deputies responded around 3:34 a.m. Aug. 23 to a single-car crash near Ridge and Redman roads, where they found 34-year-old Franklin G. Nunez-Yauqui leaving the vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Nunez-Yauqui was intoxicated and a chemical breath test later showed a blood alcohol content of 0.16%.
He was charged with driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, first-offense DWI, moving from a lane unsafely, improper plates, having no license plate, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating without an inspection certificate and operating without insurance.
Nunez-Yauqui was taken to the Wayne County Jail for processing and released with appearance tickets for Sodus Town Court at a later date, deputies said.
