Two people were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny after Cayuga County sheriff's deputies said they stole a vehicle from a Port Byron gas station parking lot late July 27.
Lisa M. Redden, 56, of Auburn, and Shye J. Payne, 32, of Port Byron, were arrested after Auburn police found the stolen vehicle at a city address, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the Marathon gas station at 10 Rochester St. at about 10:30 p.m. for a reported vehicle theft. Investigators said information gathered during the case established probable cause to charge Redden and Payne.
Both were taken to the county Public Safety Building for processing and then brought to centralized arraignment court. They were released on their own recognizance, deputies said.
