A Walworth woman is accused of receiving $838 in SNAP benefits she was not entitled to after failing to report Social Security income received by her children, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
MaryJo Bianca, 54, was arrested on charges of fifth-degree welfare fraud, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and petit larceny following a joint investigation by the sheriff's office and Wayne County Department of Social Services.
Deputies said Bianca failed to disclose the income while receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits through the county. The sheriff's office announced the arrest Monday and said the investigation was conducted in Lyons.
Bianca was taken to the Wayne County Jail for processing and released with an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court on Aug. 25.
