State Sen. Pamela Helming is accepting nominations through Sept. 10 for her annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony, which will honor veterans from the 54th Senate District this fall.
The ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 23 at the Fort Hill Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua. Anyone may nominate an eligible veteran who lives in the district.
The 54th District includes Ontario, Livingston and Wayne counties, along with the Monroe County communities of Chili, Churchville, Honeoye Falls, Mendon, Riga, Rush, Scottsville and Wheatland.
Helming's office said the information submitted through its nomination form will be used in a commemorative booklet. The office asks that the nominee information section be completed by the veteran whenever possible.
Posthumous nominations are also accepted. In those cases, nominators should complete the form with as much information as is available.
The nomination form is available through Helming's New York State Senate website. The deadline is Thursday, Sept. 10.
