U.S. Rep. Claudia Tenney has released a 2026 foreign policy agenda that calls for confronting China, strengthening national security and putting American workers, farmers and manufacturers at the center of international trade policy.
The New York Republican, who represents the 24th Congressional District, unveiled what she called her America First Foreign Policy Plan on Wednesday in Oswego.
Tenney said the plan would target what she described as the Chinese Communist Party's malign influence and hold Canada accountable for what she called unfair treatment of U.S. products.
The agenda also calls for preventing U.S. taxpayer money from going to international organizations Tenney considers corrupt. It emphasizes a strong military, strategic diplomacy and policies intended to advance U.S. security and economic interests.
Tenney said the proposal reflects President Donald Trump's approach of pursuing peace through strength. The release did not identify specific bills, funding levels or an implementation schedule for the agenda.
