A 90-year-old Corning woman who police said was sexually assaulted July 13 died Monday, according to the Hornell Tribune. Corning Police Chief Kenzie Spaulding said the investigation is continuing and more charges are expected.
Spaulding said the exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
Jonathan Rivaldo is currently charged with three counts of first-degree rape, first-degree burglary, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree intimidating a victim.
Police said Rivaldo was arraigned in Steuben County CAP Court and sent to Steuben County Jail without bail.
Spaulding said the victim's identity is still being withheld to protect her privacy and the ongoing investigation.
