Seneca County Republicans endorse Passalacqua for sheriff

The Seneca County Republican Committee has unanimously endorsed Michael Passalacqua in his campaign for county sheriff.

Committee members voted to support Passalacqua during a July 13 meeting, according to a statement issued by county Republican Chairman Thomas H. Fox.

Passalacqua has more than 20 years of law enforcement experience and retired as chief of the Geneva Police Department. The committee cited his experience in administration, leadership, training and budgeting as reasons for the endorsement.

The statement said the committee plans to work with Passalacqua during his campaign. It did not identify other candidates or provide details about the election schedule.

Passalacqua previously announced that he is running to become Seneca County's next sheriff.
