Pediatric care is expanding in Geneva as University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health adds services at Finger Lakes Health Primary Care on the Geneva General Hospital campus.
The health system said Grace Freier, MD, will serve as medical director for the Geneva pediatric services while continuing to see patients at Lifecare Medical Associates in Seneca Falls.
Marissa Rice, MD, is now accepting patients at the Geneva practice, and Aparna Peri, MD, is expected to join the team in September.
The pediatric services are currently based on the second floor of the medical office building on the Geneva General Hospital campus. Finger Lakes Health said the practice will move into a dedicated pediatric office on the first floor next summer after extensive renovations.
Freier said the goal is to expand access to high-quality pediatric care for families across the region and create a dedicated pediatric office where children can receive care from providers they know and trust.
Families will also have access to MyChart, which allows patients and caregivers to schedule appointments, communicate with providers, review test results and manage a child's health care online.
Rice most recently worked as a pediatrician at Boston Children's Hospital and Atrius Health in Concord, Massachusetts. She completed her pediatrics residency at Boston Children's Hospital and attended medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Rice is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.
