Canandaigua City Council will hold special meeting tonight: What’s on the agenda?

Canandaigua City Council is scheduled to hold a brief special meeting Monday to consider an appointment to the city’s Zoning Board of Appeals.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. July 6 in City Council Chambers at the Hurley Building, 205 Saltonstall St. A virtual option and live stream are also listed on the agenda.


The only business item on the agenda is the appointment of John Auberger to the Zoning Board of Appeals.

According to the agenda, Auberger would fill the seat of Bill Wright. The appointment would be for a first full term expiring in December 2028.

The agenda calls for the meeting to begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

Council members are also scheduled to review the city’s community core values before taking up the Zoning Board of Appeals appointment.

The agenda lists Mayor Thomas Lyon and council members Teale Fox, Guy Turchetti, Donna Cator, Erich Dittmar, Sim Covington, J.T. Squires, Doug Merrill and Gwen Van Laeken.

City Manager John Goodwin, Assistant City Manager Shawna Bonshak, City Clerk Erin VanDamme and Corporation Counsel David Hou are also listed.
