Pizza Hut officially opened its new Auburn-Sennett location Thursday, bringing the national chain back to the area with a dine-in restaurant, lunch buffet and salad bar.
Located at 374 Grant Avenue Road, the restaurant will welcome its first customers Thursday as staff prepared for what is expected to be a busy week.
The opening marks the return of several features longtime Pizza Hut fans have been asking for, including a weekday lunch buffet.
Management said the lunch buffet will be available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
There are currently no plans to offer an evening buffet.
The restaurant’s salad bar is expected to be available daily until approximately 8:30 or 9 p.m., giving customers another dine-in option that has become increasingly uncommon at many chain restaurants.
Customers should note that while the location includes a drive-thru, it is intended exclusively for order pickups.
Orders will not be taken at the window and must be placed ahead of time online, through the Pizza Hut app, by phone, or through DoorDash.
Delivery service will be available through the Pizza Hut app and DoorDash, with deliveries handled by DoorDash drivers.
Restaurant hours are expected to be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Management is also asking customers for patience during the first few days of operation as employees adjust to the new building, new workflows and opening-day demand.
The restaurant opened as Cayuga County remains under a heat advisory Thursday afternoon, adding another challenge for staff working through the launch of the new location.
