A years-long land fight between the Finger Lakes Drive-In and the Cayuga Nation is moving closer to trial, according to The Citizen.
A state judge ruled the drive-in’s lease to use neighboring property remains valid through at least 2034, rejecting the Cayuga Nation’s effort to remove the theater from the land. However, the judge also found unresolved questions about the lease’s renewal terms and whether the nation knew about the agreement when it bought the property in 2023.
Those issues will now be decided at trial. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for July 1, and the Cayuga Nation’s leadership council says it plans to appeal parts of the ruling.
