Firefighters assist with extrication after Cayuga crash

Emergency crews from multiple departments responded to a one-vehicle crash in Cayuga Thursday morning that left at least one person trapped inside the vehicle.

The Aurelius Volunteer Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched at 6:55 a.m. to assist the Cayuga Fire Department at the scene of a motor vehicle collision.


According to the department, Aurelius crews helped extricate one patient from the vehicle following the crash. No information about the patient’s condition or the circumstances leading to the collision was immediately available.

Firefighters remained on scene for less than an hour before clearing the incident at 7:42 a.m.

Additional details about the crash have not been released.
