On a recent candidate forum hosted by Cayuga Community College and The Auburn Citizen, four candidates seeking seats on the Board of Education for the Auburn Enlarged City School District outlined their positions on school spending, student performance, district leadership, and the challenges facing public education in Auburn. The forum, moderated by Guy Cosentino with questions from Robert Harding, featured candidates C.J. Calarco, Dr. Eli Hernandez, Daniel Lovell, and Bruce McBain as they discussed priorities ahead of this month’s school budget and board vote. Candidates weighed in on fiscal accountability, communication with taxpayers, student support services, and long-term planning for the district during the wide-ranging discussion.
