Waterloo schools to host community town hall May 7

Waterloo school officials are inviting residents to weigh in on the district’s future during a town hall event designed to spark conversation, gather feedback, and address community priorities.

The Waterloo Central School District will host the event May 7 at Waterloo Middle School, offering attendees a chance to engage directly with district leadership on a range of topics shaping local education.

Superintendent Sarah Cupelli said the event is intended to bring together parents, residents, and stakeholders interested in discussing district issues and contributing ideas about its direction.

Rather than a traditional presentation, the format will feature multiple discussion stations staffed by district leaders. Organizers say the setup is meant to encourage more focused conversations, allowing participants to ask questions, share concerns, and collaborate on potential solutions.

Topics will be shaped by input gathered through a recent family engagement survey, ensuring discussions reflect issues identified by the community.

The town hall will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Large Group Instruction Room at Waterloo Middle School. The event is open to the public, and refreshments will be available.
