Historic caboose rolling into Manchester park

A 1940s railroad caboose that once passed through town is making a comeback, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, heading to Manchester’s railroad park.

The Lehigh Valley Railroad caboose, known as 95019, cost about $20,000 and will join other rail cars on display. Crews once lived and worked inside, using it as a mobile base.

Crews will haul it from a museum and install it April 28 at the park, marking a nostalgic return for a village once tied closely to the railroad industry.
