Dryden bridge construction begins to connect trail and improve safety

Heavy equipment is already rolling as a long-awaited trail connection takes shape in Dryden, according to The Tompkins Weekly. Construction has officially begun on a pedestrian and bike bridge over Route 13.

The $3.1 million project will link the east and west sections of the Dryden Rail Trail. Officials expect completion by late fall.

Crews are also replacing another bridge and expanding trail sections. Leaders say the upgrades will boost safety and recreation but urge the public to avoid the work zone.
