A Union Springs man has pleaded guilty to a top felony charge involving sexual conduct with a child, Cayuga County prosecutors announced Friday.
Craig Gilmore, 63, admitted in Cayuga County Court to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a Class B violent felony, stemming from incidents that occurred between spring 2023 and August 2024 .
Prosecutors said Gilmore engaged in multiple acts of sexual conduct with a child under the age of 11, including at least one act of oral sexual conduct. The plea satisfies the top count of the indictment.
Gilmore faces a determinate prison sentence of up to 25 years, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
He remains held without bail and is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
The case was investigated by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Courtney Venditte.
