Rochester Regional Health is moving forward with a major investment at its Unity campus, aiming to expand cancer treatment capacity and improve access to advanced diagnostic services in the region.
The health system announced plans for an $8.9 million expansion of oncology services at the Lipson Cancer Institute at Unity, alongside a new $12 million outpatient imaging center in the Unity Professional Office Building.
The oncology expansion will double infusion capacity from 10 to 20 treatment bays and add a dedicated oncology pharmacy, allowing care teams to treat more patients while improving efficiency and coordination. Officials said the first phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The new imaging center, scheduled to open later in 2026, will offer a full range of diagnostic services including MRI, CT scans, X-ray, mammography, ultrasound and DEXA scans. Health leaders say the facility will help streamline care by improving coordination between imaging, oncology and other specialty services.
Construction is set to begin April 27, with patient access to the Professional Office Building maintained through a rear entrance during the project.
RRH officials said the combined investments reflect a broader effort to deliver more coordinated, patient-centered care closer to home as demand for cancer treatment and advanced diagnostics continues to grow.
