Dozens of wind turbines could soon rise over rural Cayuga County after state regulators signed off, according to Finger Lakes Daily News.
The state’s energy siting office approved the Agricola Wind project, planned for Scipio and Venice. Developers expect it to generate up to 99 megawatts and begin operating by 2028. Construction should create about 89 full-time jobs, plus ongoing maintenance work.
Officials say the project will bring roughly $63 million in local investment and nearly $1 million in utility bill credits over 10 years. Developers must follow strict rules on construction, operations, and eventual site cleanup after the project ends.
