A Phelps man was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a reported domestic incident, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Patrick F. Rouse, 46, after responding to a call for a family trouble complaint on Garfield Street around 3:10 p.m.
Following an investigation, authorities determined Rouse had violated an order of protection previously issued to the victim. He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt.
Officials said Rouse was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending centralized arraignment proceedings.
The incident was investigated by members of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from New York State Police.
