A Tompkins Cortland Community College student received a statewide award recognizing academic achievement and perseverance.
Lexie Loveless, of Groton, was presented the Norman R. McConney, Jr. Award for Student Excellence by the SUNY Board of Trustees and Chancellor John King Jr.
The award honors students in SUNY’s Educational Opportunity Program for academic merit and perseverance.
Loveless graduated from TC3 in December 2025 with a general studies degree.
She plans to continue her education at SUNY Delhi in an event management program.
The award was presented earlier this month at a ceremony in Troy.
Loveless is the second TC3 student to receive the honor.
