Farm, wine bar partner for Rochester tasting event

A Bloomfield-based farm and a Rochester wine bar will host a joint food and wine event later this month highlighting regional agriculture.

Finger Foods Farm and Unwine’d will hold the pairing event March 25 in Rochester, featuring soups made with locally sourced ingredients and wines from Finger Lakes vineyards.

The event, titled “Harvest Bowls and House Pours: A Regional Wine and Soup Experience,” will offer samples of soups paired with regional wines.

Organizers said the tasting will include preview offerings not yet widely available in retail stores.

Guests will sample multiple soup and wine combinations designed to showcase products sourced from farms and wineries across New York.

The event comes as Finger Foods Farm expands distribution into additional retail locations, including Provisions @ Jens Artisans, Lori’s Natural Foods, Wegmans, Food Bazaar, and Wild by Nature.

“Soup is an unexpected but powerful platform for promoting local agriculture,” said Sarah Cookfair, co-founder of Finger Foods Farm.

“Partnering with Finger Foods Farm allows us to connect our guests with local farms and wineries in a new way—and to highlight how regional products can complement each other,” said Jim Muir, co-owner of Unwine’d.
