Traffic stops and police calls dominated activity for the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office in February, according to newly released monthly statistics.
The sheriff’s office reported 126 total arrests and 952 traffic stops during the month.
Dispatchers also handled a large volume of emergency calls.
The communications bureau reported 15,290 police calls in February, along with 1,526 EMS calls and 335 fire calls.
Law enforcement activity included 15 driving while intoxicated arrests. Deputies also responded to 10 overdose incidents and used Narcan twice.
Deputies recorded 3,142 total sheriff’s office events during the month. K-9 units were involved in 24 events, and deputies responded to 128 calls at Eastview Mall.
Crash data from February shows 74 car-versus-deer collisions and 164 property-damage crashes. Deputies also investigated 32 crashes involving personal injuries. No fatal crashes were reported.
At the Ontario County Jail, the median population was 95 inmates during the month.
Jail officials reported 90 male admissions and 37 female admissions. Staff conducted 699 medical encounters with inmates and processed 54 arraignments.
Courts issued 29 release-on-recognizance orders during the month. The sheriff’s office also processed 13 pistol permits.
