Macedon man charged in sex offender registry case

Police arrested a Macedon man after investigators said he failed to verify his address as required under state sex offender registry laws.

Paul A. Valentine, 38, of Macedon, was charged following a special investigation into his registry status, according to the Town of Macedon Police Department.

Authorities allege Valentine did not verify his address with the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services as required by Correction Law 0168 as of Jan. 9.

Police arrested him Feb. 27 at about 10:45 a.m. at the Wayne County Jail, where he is currently serving a six-month sentence.

He was processed and charged with felony sex offender failure to report a change of address or status within 10 days under New York State Correction Law 0168-F.

Valentine will remain at the Wayne County Jail for the duration of his sentence. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
