Waterloo man charged after bringing THC gummies to jail

A man was arrested after investigators said he brought THC-infused gummies into the Seneca County Correctional Facility.

Willie H. Spann, 58, of Waterloo, was taken into custody around 10:30 a.m. March 2 in the Town of Romulus on a charge of promoting prison contraband in the second degree.

Sheriff Timothy Thompson said the arrest followed an incident at the county jail. Authorities said Spann entered the facility to serve his sentenced weekends and was found in possession of marijuana gummies containing THC.

Investigators charged Spann with promoting prison contraband in the second degree. He was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and will appear in the Town of Romulus Court at a later date.
