State police boost worship patrols

State troopers are fanning out to churches, mosques, and synagogues across New York, according to Spectrum News.

Gov. Kathy Hochul says she ordered increased patrols at religious, diplomatic, and cultural sites after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran. She says officials see no credible threats but want precautionary protection, especially with Purim approaching. Troopers are coordinating with federal and local law enforcement and reaching out to faith leaders.

Iranian state media report the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei following the attacks, while President Donald Trump says bombing will continue this week. Anti-war protests unfolded across upstate New York as some residents voice fear and others express relief.
