A quick response by a sheriff’s deputy helped contain a kitchen fire inside a Farmington apartment Saturday morning.
Emergency crews responded around 9:55 a.m. Feb. 28 to 1799 Stoney Way, Apartment F, for a reported structure fire, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
A responding deputy used a fire extinguisher to suppress a stove-top fire involving items on the stovetop.
Fire departments from Farmington, Victor and Canandaigua arrived shortly after to vent smoke and ensure the scene was safe.
All occupants evacuated safely. Officials reported no injuries.
Damage was limited to the stove and minor smoke accumulation. Investigators said the fire appears to have been accidental.
