FBI probes deadly Austin bar shooting

Gunfire ripped through a packed Sixth Street bar district just before 2 a.m., leaving two people dead and 14 wounded, according to The Associated Press.

Police shot and killed 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne after he opened fire outside Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden with a pistol and rifle. Authorities say he drove past the bar several times, then shot from his SUV before stepping out and firing into the crowd. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the attack as possible terrorism after officers found indicators tied to Iran.

Austin police say officers confronted the gunman within a minute. Three victims remain in critical condition. The shooting came a day after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, and President Donald Trump has received a briefing.
