A routine traffic stop in the Village of Penn Yan resulted in a charge against an Elmira man for driving with a suspended license.
Silas Emidio Da Silva, 46, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, according to the Penn Yan Police Department.
Police said a DMV check of the vehicle Da Silva was driving showed his New York operating privileges were suspended for failure to answer summons.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and confirmed the driver’s identity using his New Jersey driver’s license.
Da Silva was issued a traffic ticket and released. He is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
