Vigil honors ICE detainees in Glen

Nearly 90 people gathered with candles in Watkins Glen to honor people who died in ICE or Border Patrol custody, according to The Odessa File.

Hector/Schuyler County Indivisible organized the evening vigil on Fourth Street near Lafayette Park. Participants walked silently to St. James’ Episcopal Church, carrying large cards that listed names of the deceased.

Inside the church, attendees shared snacks and sang together. One by one, they stepped to a microphone and read aloud the name written on their card, creating a quiet roll call of remembrance.
