FLCC plans two AI events in March

Finger Lakes Community College will host two free artificial intelligence training events in March, including a webinar and an in-person workshop for marketing professionals.

Both events are organized through the college’s FLX AI Hub and are open to professionals, with no prior AI experience required.

The first event is a Zoom webinar set for March 10 from noon to 1 p.m. Lindsey Chamberlain-Zeller, executive director of the FLCC Association, will lead the session titled “NotebookLM: Summarize, Analyze, and Create in Seconds.”

The webinar will demonstrate how to use NotebookLM, a Google tool that allows users to upload their own documents to create a searchable knowledge base. The program generates responses based only on the sources users provide and includes tools to create podcasts, explainer videos, infographics, flashcards and reports.

The second event is an in-person workshop on AI for Marketing and Communications on March 19 at FLCC’s main campus in Canandaigua. The workshop runs from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and includes lunch.

The event will feature a keynote address on how artificial intelligence is changing how people find businesses and services online. Local business representatives, along with FLCC faculty and staff, will share case studies and participate in a panel discussion about AI’s impact on marketing and communications. The Ontario County Chamber of Commerce is co-sponsoring the workshop.

Organizers will offer separate breakout sessions for beginners and intermediate users.

Registration for both events is available through the college’s website.
