State Police have arrested a 26-year-old Bath resident following a months-long investigation into an alleged incident involving a 13-year-old girl.
Zachary T. Preston was taken into custody Feb. 25 in the town of Bath without incident, according to New York State Police.
Investigators said the charge stems from an investigation that began in September 2025 after a report involving a 13-year-old female.
Preston was charged with rape in the second degree, a Class D felony.
After his arrest, Preston was processed at State Police in Bath and transported to the Steuben County Jail pending centralized arraignment.
Authorities said orders of protection were issued on behalf of the victim.
