Two rival schools could soon share the same sidelines, as Dundee and Hammondsport explore an athletic partnership, according to district letters sent to families.
Superintendents Brian Corey and Chris Wood say talks remain early and no decisions stand yet. Leaders want to expand and stabilize sports options for students in both districts.
Hammondsport already shares teams with Campbell-Savona, Avoca and Prattsburgh, and some athletes compete with Bath-Haverling. Dundee partners with Bradford for most sports and with Penn Yan for football, fall cheer and girls wrestling. Those Penn Yan programs would stay in place.
Bradford’s push to study a district merger sparked Dundee’s review. If approved, the new partnership could launch in the 2026–27 school year.
